However, if you scroll down a little more and delve a little deeper you’ll soon realize that some of the squares on the gram have a pop of color that really speaks to your soul.

Soft pinks, muted sage, dark greens, blues, and yellows are all prominent colors giving interiors a voice and with good reason.

Bedrooms are welcoming in touches of soft pinks which adds kindness, nurturance, and compassion to a room. Pink is also thought to have a calming effect upon entering. I personally chose a soft pink for my baby girl’s room, complementing it with terracotta and creams to make the room a tranquil space for both her and me while still keeping it modern.

Sage, a color that really speaks to me is also a firm favorite amongst many and it comes as no surprise, it is said that it’s a color that expresses wisdom and also communicates peace, growth and speaks to nature which has a natural calming effect on us as humans. Green is my favorite color and I make sure to add touches of sage and dark green to our home to ‘bring the outside, in’. In addition to paint, I also make sure to add plants in each room to really make the space come alive. For someone who isn’t really much of a gardener, I enjoy seeing new life from my indoor plants motivating me along the way.

We recently bought a house and I really wanted to focus on my bedroom as a priority. We will be adding about 1.5m of room space, and I am extremely excited to fully immerse myself in creating a space where I can escape from the daily grind when I go to bed at night.

As the rest of my home is filled with splashes of bright colors, I want my bedroom to be much more neutral with touches of terracotta, sand, rattan, white and you’ve guessed it, green. I’m envisioning a statement hanging light with a piece of statement artwork above my bed that really speaks to me and my journey.

Color is fun, and also has such an impact on our mood and output after a long day, make sure you choose colors that really touch you and make you feel happy, settled, and content.
